Fantasy sports have revolutionized how fans engage with their favorite games. At Waitchen Sports Bar, we've created a vibrant community of fantasy sports enthusiasts who gather to draft, trade, celebrate victories, and commiserate losses together. If you've ever wanted to join a fantasy league or are looking for a more social fantasy experience, this guide is for you.
Our Fantasy Leagues
We currently run officially organized fantasy leagues for five major sports:
- AFL Fantasy: Our most popular league with over 120 participants
- NRL Fantasy: A close second with around 100 members
- EPL Fantasy: For our Premier League football fans
- NBA Fantasy: Basketball enthusiasts unite
- Cricket SuperCoach: Test your knowledge of the gentleman's game
Each league operates with similar principles but has sport-specific rules and scoring systems. Our leagues are designed to be accessible to newcomers while still offering depth for experienced fantasy managers.
How Our Leagues Work
Season Structure
Our fantasy leagues follow the same schedule as their real-world counterparts, with a few key events:
- Pre-Season Draft Party: The most exciting day of the fantasy calendar! We gather at Waitchen for a live draft event with special food and drink packages.
- Weekly Matchups: Each week, your fantasy team is matched against another member's team.
- Trade Windows: Specific periods where you can make trades with other managers.
- Finals Series: The top teams at the end of the regular season advance to a playoff structure.
- Championship Celebration: End-of-season awards night with prizes and recognition.
League Formats
We offer different formats to suit various preferences:
- Head-to-Head: Your team faces off against another team each week (most popular)
- Total Points: Season-long accumulation of points
- Keeper Leagues: Retain a certain number of players from season to season
- Dynasty Leagues: For our most dedicated members, with multi-year team building
